1Up provides practical support, opportunities for growth and a sense of hope to single parents, caregivers and their children through our services and resources. Our services include parenting & life skills education, counselling, mentoring, and access to free clothing, toys, books, baby equipment and bread room. We would love the opportunity to connect with new single parent families, offer resources and provide information about our programs and services.  1Up Brochure

BCCPAC

The BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils (BCCPAC) is a non-profit organization made up of parents, elected by parents.  BCCPAC works to promote, support and advance meaningful parent participation throughout the public education system in order to advocate for the success of all students in the Province of BC.  We work with our membership, to promote leadership, communication, cooperation, and representation at the school, district and provincial levels.  Learn more at www.bccpac.bc.ca

BC Responsible and Problem Gambling Program

We exist to help reduce and prevent the harmful impacts of excessive or uncontrolled gambling. The mandate of the Strategy includes providing free support and treatment services and promoting responsible gambling practices through education and policy development. The BC Responsible Gambling Strategy involves the Province, through the Gaming Policy & Enforcement Branch and the BC Responsible & Problem Gambling Program, and the BC Lottery Corporation.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater VIctoria

Boys and Girls Club of Greater Victoria runs several Parenting Programs throughout the region. Parents Together is a program for parents of teenage youth who have extremely challenging behaviour. This program runs weekly year round. Parents in the Know is a 10 week program for parents of teens. Parents Without Power Struggles is a 10 week program for parents of pre-teens. All of our programs are provided at low cost.

Rethink Thinking Foundation

We are a non-profit dedicated to providing students with unique opportunities to explore what matters to them through inquiry based learning events, programming and community partnerships. Our focus is fostering 21st centiryearning and personal development by building traits such as resilience, creative confidence, collaboration, critical thinking and social consciousnesses in our youth.

School House Teaching Supplies

Here at School House our dedicated, experienced staff work hard to support teachers (public, private,home schoolers) , parents and grandparents, community health workers, etc. with educational materials and books in both English and French so that their children will become successful learners. We would be honoured to be a part of your conference.

Tutor Doctor

Tutor Doctor Victoria provides one-to-one in-home tutoring in every academic subject for students of all ages. Research consistently demonstrates that the impact of one-to-one tutoring on academic performance and self-confidence is outstanding, and we at Tutor Doctor are gratified to be the providers of this service to our students.

Vancouver Island Health Authority Tobacco and Vapour Products Preventions and Control Progam & Child Care Licensing Program

Vancouver Island Health Authority provides health services to people living on Vancouver Island, including public health services. We provide education regarding prevention and cessation of tobacco and vapour products; raise awareness of locations where smoking is banned; how to contact our program regarding people smoking in locations where this is prohibited. We also wish to provide education to participants regarding the role of Community Care Facility Licensing program in the provision of child care services on Vancouver Island.

Vancouver Island Health Healthy Schools

The Healthy Schools team with Island Health work to engage partners in school districts, schools, parents, and community networks and organizations to support the health and wellbeing of all persons in schools (including school staff and students). Parents play a huge role within school communities and can positively influence the health of the school culture. We can provide resources and support in this respect for the enhanced health of our students across Vancouver Island. 

Victoria Youth Clinic

The Victoria Youth Clinic is a confidential Primary Health Care Clinic for all youth aged 12 to 24 years. Our dedicated youth-focused integrative team which consists of doctors, nurses, counsellors, psychiatrists, outreach worker, wellness navigator, medical officeassistant and director, work collaboratively to support youth-centred care. The Clinic moved this year to 818 Douglas Street on the 3rd floor. The location is easily accessible and centrally located. We are seeing an increasing number of parents 

Westshore Parks and Recreation

We provide recreation programs for families, children and youth in our community. We would love to provide information to parents on the programs we have available and hear from our community if they would like further programs developed.

World Fisheries Trust

Seaquaria Ocean Education is an initiative of World Fisheries Trust, a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to the equitable and sustainable use and conservation of aquatic biodiversity. With hands-on educational programming that promotes both science education and emotional learning, Seaquaria Ocean Education endeavors to foster the development of a knowledgeable, empathetic society that takes care of our oceans and environment. We have 29 saltwater aquaria set up in elementary, middle and secondary schools across 9 school districts, stocked with local marine plants and animals, and stewarded by the students themselves.
